What inspired you to join our organisation? Can you share a little about your journey that led you here?
I experienced first-hand the accessibility of Tech and Programming and its ability to open doors to new pathways when I transitioned from hospitality to working in a Web Dev role after graduating from a 10-month coding boot camp. Working with Take 2 provides a rare opportunity to use my experience to help students grasp firmly the opportunity to walk down a new path towards personal growth and prosperity and begin to break the cycles of harm affecting our society.
Share a moment that has been memorable for you so far.
Working with the NZ students helped to shatter any preconceived notions I had about justice-impacted individuals and it was a great privilege to assist and witness them taking on the challenges they faced and to see them overcome them with perseverance and passion for tech.
What impact do you hope to make at Take2?
I hope to be able to combine the foundations of the NZ program with my own skills and approach to teaching to make the Sydney program an outstanding learning environment.
